Welcome to York Institute for Community Theology

We are a Methodist training institution and resource centre working in partnership with York St John University and other ecumenical partners in Yorkshire and the North-East. More about us.

In this site, you’ll find a host of development opportunities for different kinds of ministry and details of national and regional courses and resources for the development of mission and ministry.

Reflection, training and development

The Institute provides opportunities for reflection, education and exploration of faith. The Encounter programme supports you as you reflect on where God is calling you to within your faith journey.

We provide opportunities for intial and continuing Local Preacher training.

We offer Preordination Training for ministry in the Methodist Church. See our courses and resources pages for the full range of training available.

The Institute offers a range of conferences and programmes supporting mission and professional development in ministry, including a prestigious MA programme in church consultancy and a new postgraduate course in Rural Mission and Ministry
